The DPA 4080 CORE is a miniature cardioid lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for live events, journalism, and broadcast applications. The electret-condenser capsule delivers crisp, clear, and intelligible speech, while the rugged yet unobtrusive design is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations.
The cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture on the talent, picking up less audio from the sides and helping to reduce unwanted background sounds. This pattern works best for forward-facing talent speaking in the direction of the mic, including broadcast personalities and presenters; it also helps to reduce feedback issues when monitors and PA systems are employed for sound reinforcement.
